Obituary of Daniel Noel Racette
Daniel Noel Racette
December 24th, 1966 - February 9th, 2024
Dan was a loving husband, a caring father, and a martial artist. He
passed peacefully in his home with his wife and children present.
He was proceeded in death by his older sister Stephanie “Duck”
Racette, his mother Agatha “Aggie” Racette, and father Henry “Handsome
Hank” Racette.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, his two children Lainey and Eve
Racette. As well as his brothers, Henry Racette and John Racette.
Along with his sisters, Teri DePuy, Tracy Aragon, and Jennifer
Finlayson.
Dan began his martial arts journey in his twenties, studying under
Phil Gilbert at AKKA Karate. Over many years he was an integral figure
to the organization, infamous for his quick thinking and hilarious
twists on katas, such as using rolled up magazines at the last minute
to perform Mass Attack during a tournament.
He was known by friends and family as a nerd who had a love for
building pcs from scratch, enjoyed creating immersive worlds in D&D,
and tabletop games.
His children knew him best for his love of martial arts, his enjoyment
of puns and dad jokes.
In his wife's words "He was my amazing, fearless, noble, courageous,
genius, gentleman with an astounding sense of humor and a heart of
gold."
