Obituary of Jose G. Nevarez

"THE SONG HAS ENDED BUT THE MELODY LINGERS ON"

 

On Saturday February 4th Jose G Nevarez Jr. spread his wings to meet his Lord in Heaven.

Born in Hatch N.M. February 8th 1941, to Jose H. Nevarez and Ida Leisa Nevarez.

 

He enlisted in the Army and it became a career. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours. He received multiple commendations throughout his career, the Bronze Star and Purple Heart to name a few.

 

Jose completed a Master’s Degree in Education from New Mexico Highlands and finished his working years in education administration which became his passion.

 

He survived by his wife Alicia Nevarez.  Sons: baby Joe Anthony {deceased}, Joe Anthony, Quinn {deceased}, Noel {wife Jenny}.

Grandchildren:  Karl {Anthony}, Quinn Jr., Jacob, Alina, {Quinn}, Lexi, Mia, {Noel}

 

Extended Family {Alicia's children}: Cinthia, Renee {husband Marcel}, Joanna {husband Daniel}, Felicia, Joan “Johnny”, Erasmo “Eric” {deceased}

 

Sibling's:  Sally Neel {husband Ralph}, Charlie {deceased}, Danny, Virginia, Cruz {wife Ann), Debbie Cordova {husband Frank}.

 

Numerous Nephews and Nieces.

 

Services:  Rosary and Mass will be February 24th at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, located near Tramway and Paseo Del Norte.  Reception to follow at the Prince of Peace Parish Hall.

 

Burial: Military Honors, Monday February 27th at 12:30 pm National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.
