Obituary of Leo J Archibeque

On Sunday, May 29, 2022, Leo J Archibeque, loving husband and father passed away at age 84. 

Leo was born on December 4, 1937 in Pena Blanca, NM to Leo Sr and Eliza (Ortiz) Archibeque. 

His military life was the United States Air Force at the age of 23 where he spent 7 years in military service plus 1 extra year of active duty during the Berlin crisis. 

He was Airman First Class. 

After the Air Force he went to work for Lockheed Martin Aviation in Burbank California where he became a Mechanical Engineer. 

He was most proud of the fact that he helped engineer the “Top Secret SR- 71 Black Bird Spy Plane”, this was one of the most accomplished times of his life.

Leo is proceeded in death by his father Leo Sr, mother Eliza, brother Gerald, sister Marylou (Lulu). He is survived by his mom Patsy, his wife Ruth, brothers, Anthony, Leonard, Emilio and Willie, sisters, Patsy and Dorella. His five children, Leo, Stephanie, Samantha, Mary. 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rosary/Mass to begin @ 9:30 am Mass to follow on Thursday July 14th, 2022 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on 5311 Phoenix Ave NE.

Internment will take place on Monday, 

 July 18, 2022 at 3 o’clock pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
