Obituary of Doetta D. Martinez

Doetta passed away on March 18, 2022, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born June 12, 1964 in Hobbs, NM to America and Jimmie Stradford. Doetta was born into a Christian family, accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and sang in the choir while attending Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in Hobbs, NM. 

She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1982. In the Hobbs High School varsity Band, Doetta was Flag Team Captain for three years, played the flute and earned four medals and two certificates. She worked many jobs while obtaining her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix. Doetta was employed as an occupational therapist and family counselor at The Evolution Group in Albuquerque, NM for seventeen years.  

Doetta was preceded in death by her parents, infant twin brothers, and an older brother, Marvin Horace. Mourning her departure are one daughter: Ronica Brooks of Wisconsin; two sons: Ronnie Brooks, Jr. And Jimmie Greer, both of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters: Odessa Moses (Chester) of Albuquerque, NM; Juanita Wimbish of Hobbs, NM and Relene Dixon of Albuquerque; a first-cousin, Debra Rhymes of Los Angele, CA; two grandchildren; two nieces; five nephews; and a host of family members, friends, and coworkers. 

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 16th, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Metropolitan Church of God in Christ, 4800 Lomas Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, NM officiated by Bishop Keith Jones. Services are under the direction of Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, NM
