Thanks for continuing to inspire me to do better. You gave me advice I still haven't taken, but I'm just saving it. I think about you every day. Sometimes going around campus to different spots we played guitar at reminds me of those times. Thank you for those memories. Love ya

My son Pierce is friends with Richard and attends ECA and is a swimmer for Volcano Vista, so I crossed paths with Richard a few times with my camera. He always impressed me so much - he made the world a better place and he will be remembered!

Richard was a 2021 State Qualifer in POLE Vault and a Letterman in T&F. He was an amazing young man full of energy and always willing to do any event asked of him or volunteered to participate in all events.

My favorite memory is, every memory.. Each one unique. My first one was holding him and kissing his sweet soft baby cheeks. Later many Hello and Goodbye cheek kisses. Our last goodbye we hugged and I asked, “Are you too big for Nanny to give cheek kisses?” With his sweet shy smile, He said “Never!” So I kissed his left cheek and then his forehead and then his right cheek and he hugged me so extra tight.
I had a don't let go of this moment and I never will. Praise to the Lord for my
favorite memories!
Love from your Florida Nanny, till I kiss your sweet cheeks again.

I was on the swim team with Richard and went to school with him. There are so many great memories of Richard that I have, but a simple thing I remember about him is that he always had an apple, and if he didn't have an apple in his bag he had already eaten it that day. When we would ride the bus from ECA to West Mesa for swim practice we would sit together and talk. I remember many times he would spilt the apple in half with his hands and offer half to me. He always talked about how if you could split an apple with you hands it wasn't too soft or too hard and was therefore a good apple. I always thought he just wanted to show off a cool party trick, and try to teach me how to do it too, but in retrospect I think he was very generous and charitable, always trying to share with others. He would always spot me a quarter or a dollar for a vending machine. I don't know how he did it, but Richard brought so many different types of people together, many of which wouldn't have met without him. He was an essential part of the swim team and would always bring laughs and smiles. One time Richard dove into the pool with his jeans and t-shirt on because someone bet that he wouldn't dive in right then. On another occasion we fit 12 of the swim team kids into his little Mazda Miata in the pool parking lot during a swim meet. I share my condolences with the family. He will be missed and remembered. I think he made more of an impact in high school alone than some people make in their entire lives.

Thank you so much for sharing this,, it makes memories have a softer light to them when they are shared with love and care. I could see Richard easily dive into the pool fully clothed because why would he let that stop him. He was so amazing,
Thank you Dallin for being his friend <3
