Obituary of Kacey Jay DeNoi
Kacey J. DeNoi left for her next great adventure on May 3, 2021, preceded by her mother, Gloria and our sister, Jeannie.
Kacey graduated from Walt Disney Elementary School in Anaheim, CA, Northside High School in Fort Smith, and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She distinguished herself by being named to Who’s Who in American Universities and voted President of the Student Union.
At the U of A Law School, Bill and Hilary Clinton were among her professors, and she forged a lasting friendship with them. She was invited and attended the Inauguration of President Bill Clinton.
Moving to Albuquerque to be with our mom, Kacey worked relentlessly to get bad guys off the street, and was nicknamed Spike by her co-workers. Kacey was a distinguished attorney working tirelessly to bring justice for her clients.
At 4’10” and 90 pounds, she actually tackled a would-be burglar, fleeing down her driveway. Knocking him out cold, she patiently awaited the police and ambulance with an ice pack on her knees.
After leaving the DA’s office, Kacey worked with other attorneys on a case that was decided in favor of the plaintiff at the Supreme Court of the United States. Always looking to a good cause, Kacey’s private practice brought relief to all of her clients. From the pyramids of Egypt to the Artic, Kacey loved to travel. Her favorite place was Africa, where she communed with the gorillas and elephants. She climbed Kilimanjaro and loved Fiji, Rome, Paris, London, Istanbul were just a few places she enjoyed. She was known for having her passport in the trunk of her car.
She will be sorely missed by her nieces AJ and Nicole, Amanda, Taylor, Mason, Paisley, Aiden, Elizabeth, Katie, Cameron and her sisters Syndi and Jan.
Kacey fought a tough battle and now we wish her more success on the next great adventure.
In lieu of flowers, Kacey would be happy to know you recycled, reduced your carbon footprint, and helped save the planet.
A Memorial and Celebration of her life will be May 15, 2021 at 1pm at her home.
